3 Savory Recipes with Anela Fruits

We all know that fruit is one of the foundations of a balanced diet. It provides vitamins, fiber, minerals, and antioxidants that help keep our bodies full of energy and vitality. But sometimes it’s hard to reach the recommended servings, or we simply feel like enjoying fruit in a different way.

A delicious and practical way to incorporate more fruit into our meals is by using natural fruit compotes in savory recipes. They add a touch of natural sweetness, texture, and freshness that pairs wonderfully with meats, cheeses, or salads. Today we bring you three savory recipes featuring fruit compote that will surprise your palate and show that fruit can also shine in main dishes or gourmet appetizers.

Warm Salad with Fruit Compote Vinaigrette

A quick, light, and flavorful recipe. The compote vinaigrette is a perfect alternative to the traditional one: creamy, aromatic, and with a natural sweet touch.

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons of compote (apple, pear, or apple & banana)
1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar
3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
A pinch of salt and pepper
A touch of mustard or honey (optional)

Preparation:

- Mix all the ingredients in a small bowl and whisk well with a fork or whisk.

- Dress a warm salad of mixed greens with goat cheese, nuts, and grilled chicken.

The result: an elegant, balanced salad with that sweet–savory contrast everyone loves.

Blue Cheese, Serrano Ham, and Pear Compote Toasts

A reinvented classic combination. Pear compote softens the intensity of blue cheese and enhances the flavor of Serrano ham, creating a perfect balance.

Ingredients:

Rustic bread or baguette
Blue cheese or gorgonzola
Serrano ham or prosciutto
1–2 tablespoons of compote (pear or apple)
A few arugula leaves (optional)

Preparation:

- Toast the bread slices.

- Spread a thin layer of compote over the warm bread.

- Add the blue cheese and the ham.

- If you prefer, broil for a couple of minutes or serve as is with fresh arugula on top.

Ideal as a starter or appetizer with a light white wine or sparkling wine.

Oven-Baked Chicken with Pear Compote and Aromatic Herbs

A comforting dish, perfect for family meals or special dinners. Pear compote acts as a natural marinade that keeps the chicken juicy and adds a subtly sweet flavor.

Ingredients:

4 chicken thighs or drumsticks
3 tablespoons of pear compote
1 onion, sliced
1 minced garlic clove
Thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper
A splash of white wine

Preparation:

- Mix the compote with the garlic, herbs, and white wine.

- Place the chicken and the onion in a baking dish and pour the mixture on top.

- Bake for 40–45 minutes at 200 °C (392 °F), basting the chicken with its juices halfway through.

You’ll get tender, aromatic meat with a naturally sweet sauce that pairs wonderfully with mashed potatoes or rice.
