On August 14th, this year’s first harvest began. In this case, it was the Royal Gala apples at Mas Martí, l’Escala.
This year will be a good harvest. Despite the weather and the little rain we’ve had over the past months, the apples are of high quality and very sweet.
Additionally, at Anela Fruits, we are getting the machines up and running again after a few days of vacation to start making our desserts with the fruit we begin to harvest.
WHY DO WE START HARVESTING DE FRUIT?
Our specialized team collects samples of the fruit from our fields and analyzes the sugars, firmness, and starches. It is at this moment that the technicians decide to start the harvest, when the fruit is in its most optimal state.
CHARACTERISTICS AND PROPERTIES OF THE ROYAL GALA VARIETY
The Royal Gala variety originated in New Zealand not many years ago, around the 1940s.
It is characterized by its reddish color and is one of the sweetest varieties.
It has a high iron and calcium content.
Additionally, it contains a lot of water, which helps keep us hydrated. It’s also a fruit that gives us a lot of energy due to its carbohydrate content.
ANELA FRUITS
All of our desserts are mainly made from apples from our own fields. This allows us to ensure that all our products are 100% natural, with no added sugars, additives, or preservatives.
